About the band
Ladies of Loudness is a Celtic-inspired folk rock band based in the Tampa Bay region. With a traditional Celtic repertoire as our foundation, we weave together the fiddle, vocals, bagpipes, whistle, accordion, keyboard, bass, and percussion to uncover New World takes on Old World tunes...
We have been performing together for five years,
and decided to build a band together to bring
Blues to a jig, Rock 'n Roll to a slow air,
and find a love ballad in a 500 year old lament
Meet the Band
Chelsea Smith, lead vocals, bass,
and fiddle
Chelsea is a skillful singer and multi-instrumentalist (vioin, ukulele, and bass), enjoying multiple genres (Celtic, rock, jazz, music theatre, classical). From 2021-2023 she toured with the Celtic fusion band North of Argyll, playing on festival stages throughout the southeast US. Since then, she has been playing with the traditional Irish Black Velvet Band at many venues in Florida including the Hard Rock Casino in Tampa on St. Patrick's Day 2024. She is also a member of The Flower Duo, a piano/violin duo, as well as the SeaChelles, a string duo with Chelle Fulk.

Chelle Fulk, lead fiddle and vocals
Chelle, owner and Chief Visionary at Music by Anthem, is a versatile violinist, violist, and vocalist. Her talent and professionalism can be found on stage or in the studio with Celtic, jazz, pop and rock bands, classical string trios and quartets, ballroom dance ensembles and more. Besides playing fiddle and electric violin with Ladies of Loudness, she performs with the Anthem String Quartet, Keltish, the DanceTet, and several folk-dance groups. When not performing, she loves epic hiking and biking adventures all over the world. Sometimes the fiddle comes along for the ride.
KT Scott, keyboards, bagpipe, whistle, accordion
KT began her musical journey on the piano. Her world turned upside down at age 6, when she heard a community pipe band in a parade. Perhaps wishing to avoid sending the family dog into PTSD, her parents handed her her sister‘s old flute. From there, she took the scenic route through the woodwinds, playing whatever the school band director needed her to play and had available to loan (alto and bass clarinet, alto and baritone saxophone). At age 13, she was still begging for bagpipe lessons. The family dog was already a mess from the clarinets, so her parents surrendered and found her a pipe teacher. Since then, she found great joy piping solo as well as with a community pipe band. She has been happily performing with the other members of Ladies of Loudness for over five years. Through it all, she has enjoyed making sense of life’s vicissitudes through Celtic music.
Chris Krause, percussion
Chris is a seasoned rock drummer playing with numerous St Pete/Tampa rock bands, i.e., Diamond Gray, Smoke and Run, Phoenix and Kenny McGee’s Machine, and the Celtic band North of Argyll. Originally from Cleveland Ohio, he moved to Florida in the mid 80’s and has been playing the Southeast coast circuit for many years. He is also the drummer for Espiritu Santo and The Light of Christ churches, which also feature his vocalist wife Sheri.
